S1E2 - Alien Fascist Bioweapons

Episode(s) Discussed: S1E3 Born to the Purple, S1E4 Infection

Zathras notes: Due to some confusion over hyperdimensional coordinates, Justen was stuck at the edge of the Rim and had comms problems. Zathras regrets the error immensely.

In which we realize that some things, including Centauri secrets and alien artifacts, are better left buried. In “Born to the Purple”, we’re all shocked by Londo being a decent person, Justen shows off their mastery of Roman history trivia, and Jude has beef with data crystals. “Infection” is forgettably similar to contemporary sci-fi shows, but lets us all fantasize about Ivanova literally, as well as figuratively, slapping a nosy reporter.

S1E1 - Not Quite a Pilot

Episode(s) Discussed: S1E1 Midnight on the Firing Line, S1E2 Soul Hunter

In which we watch the first two episodes of B5 - but not the pilot. Don’t worry, we’ll explain. In “Midnight on the Firing Line”, we learn about Jude’s everlasting love and respect for G’Kar, Ivanova’s philosophy about chins in politics, and just what the heck “spoo” is. “Soul Hunters” brings us the first of many discussions about spirituality on B5, the introduction of running source of facepalms Doctor Franklin, and Ana’s excitement to see W. Morgan Sheppard as a creepy alien.

In memory of Mira Furlan

Okay, So: The Babylon Podject

Justen made the horrible mistake of livetweeting their first watchthrough of Babylon 5 where their friends could see. Ana and Jude summoned poor Zathras to the council chamber to edit the audio as the three friends watch (or rewatch) this classic 1990s JMS science fiction epic. No, you're not stuck in a time vortex, this is the Babylon Podject. Full episodes start January 26.
